With Ben Orcher, Chad Townsend, and Jayson Bakuya promoted to the Cronulla Sharks NSW Cup team, the team that played was different to the team named. Although originally named to play in the Sharks NRL team, Lancen Joudo played in the Sharks Toyota Cup team.
John Viiga, Cameron Dunstan, and Adam Goode also played in this game.
I just watched Manly win a game against your Cronulla team that totally disgusted me. The sending off of your player was possibly the worst thing I have witness in football in my 61 years as a former player and official of the game. I follow Canberra and the team is having a shocker so I can empathize with your supporters and your team. What happened today to your side is outrages to see a side that clearly was the better side, robbed of the opportunity to pull off a major upset by a referee exhibition that was simply appalling. I now know why people are turning off rugby league and understand why people are taking their kids to other sports. The balls in Gallop’s court but I suggest nothing will change as it appears referee’s are sacred and cannot be called to task for their outrages.
